On 02/19/2024, the Middletown Police began investigating a 15-year-old juvenile, of Middletown, Delaware, in reference to social media posts containing their possible illegal possession of a firearm.

On 02/20/2024 a search warrant was served at the juvenile’s residence, and evidence of the crime was recovered. The juvenile was taken into custody and was charged with possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited as a result of being under 21. The juvenile was arraigned by Family Court, was issued $20,000 cash bail, and was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in lieu of posting bail.
