The Middletown Police Department in conjunction with the New Castle County Police Traffic Services Unit are conducting a fatal accident investigation in the 800 block of Levels Road, between Patriot Drive and St. Anne’s Church Rd. Middletown Police along with New Castle County Paramedics and the Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown were dispatched at approximately 3:15pm in reference to a motor vehicle accident . A pick up truck operated by a 25 year old male traveling east bound struck a passenger vehicle head on traveling west bound. The passenger vehicle was operated by a 34 year old female. Also in the vehicle was a juvenile passenger. The operator of the passenger vehicle was transported to Christiana Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The juvenile passenger of the vehicle was transported by Delaware State Police helicopter to A.I. DuPont Hospital with non life threatening injuries. The investigation is on going.
