OBTAIN AN ACCIDENT / CRASH REPORT

Members of the public may request accident / crash reports in person or by mail. MPD requires payment for reports prior to the release of said report. 

Requestors must be listed on the police report to receive the report (except for insurance companies / law firms).

The following will need to be provided: Report number, last name and date of incident, a check or money for $25 (Please Note: photos are additional cost).

If available, photos may be obtained at $5 per photo and requestor must purchase all photographs available for the incident.

Fatal accident reports are $75.

OTHER INCIDENT REPORTS

MPD will only distribute victim copy of reports to the victim listed on said report, in person only, with proof of identity. 

All other police reports must be subpoenaed or requested through discovery by a lawyer or law firm.

RECORD CHECKS

Record checks must be submitted to the State of Delaware Bureau of Identification. 

All Criminal History Background Checks are completed at the State Bureau of Identification.
